As you may know, qLit celebrated its 7th birthday on the 31st of May. What you may not know is that it’s also the anniversary of our first article – yes, it all started with the magazine!
So much has happened since then! We’ve launched a number of programmes, such as table tennis, the child of our co-operation with Atlas; the ever-challenging pub quiz; or our latest project, hiking. We have also received the LIFT award for our tireless community work. qLit has always been about creating a vibrant community, but our online presence is essential. Amongst other things, qLit’s bilingual content has helped us to attract the attention of foreign organisations e.g., the European Gay and Lesbian Sports Federation (EGLSF) and its EuroGames series of events, the EuroCentralAsian Lesbian Community and its European Lesbian Conference (ELC), and the Norwegian branch of Amnesty International. Publishing regular, international content is also an important condition of foreign grants to ensure our sustainability.
The work of the editorial team has taken a backseat over the years, with many people dropping out, and now this important weight rests on the shoulders of just a few. So, we decided to redesign the magazine, and for that, we need your help too. If you’re keen and enthusiastic, join the editorial team of volunteers. You are invited to come to our summer team-building event on the 8th of August 2024 for a drink and to get to know you.
Potential roles: in social media, in authoring articles, translation (English to Hungarian, Hungarian to English), and editorial roles.
What do you get in return?
- You’ll be part of a great community.
- You can take part in regular team-building activities such as pub crawls, mini golf, hiking, cookouts.
- You can take part in the highly successful qLit programmes for free.
- You can make a difference, your voice will count!
Apply here by filling out a short form until the 28th of July.
